West View

We were approached to help transform a small backyard in San Francisco's Excelsior District into an inviting entertaining space for a family of three.

Full of broken concrete and two large Pine trees that dominated the yard, we began by removing the trees to open up expansive views to the west. A raised grade deck allowed for elimination of several steps and a smooth flow from upstairs to the deck area and into the lower level sliding door. Decorative Cedar panels provide shelter from prevailing winds for a small firepit area.

Around the corner a hidden bench is the perfect place to read a book and take in the view.
